A 22-year-old woman was beaten and raped in Princes Town on Thursday and her attacker has since been detained.
The young woman told police that around 11:30am, she was dragged into a bushy area off Buen Intento Road by a 30-year-old suspect. She was then beaten and raped by the man.
Officers were notified and based on intelligence went to St Croix Road a few hours later and detained a suspect.
The woman was taken to hospital where she was treated.
