A 37-year-old woman has been left traumatised after she was assaulted and robbed during a home invasion in Cocoyea, San Fernando.
The incident took place around midday on Wednesday.
The victim told police that she was in the washing area inside her Kenneth Avenue, Cocoyea home, when she heard a strange noise.
On checking, she found two masked men in her house, one of whom was holding a firearm.
They approached the victim and announced a robbery demanding cash.
They then tied her up and gagged her.
The men took her gold chain and earrings, which had a value of an estimated $6,000, along with an assortment of other gold jewellery items. They also stole an iPhone 12 Pro Max and a Playstation 5 gaming console – both of which had a cumulative value of an estimated $10,700.
Investigations are currently underway.
