A man and a woman identified as Kevin ‘Shrek’ Lucas and Sherayne Salandy, were shot dead on Sunday morning in Sangre Grande.
Lucas and Salandy were fatally shot at about 3 a.m. on Sunday, while sitting in a parked car along the Boodoo Highway in Sangre Grande.
The police and paramedics were notified, however, they both died shortly after.
Several spent shells were said to have been recovered.
It is alleged the occupants of a silver car pulled alongside and opened fire on the couple before speeding off.
Lucas, 35, of Boodoo Highway, Sangre Grande, was seated in the front passenger seat, while Salandy, 37, of Phase Four, La Horquetta, was said to have been behind the wheel.
Lucas was well known to the police.
Meanwhile, in an shooting earlier at around midnight, David Best, 46, of Cumaca Road, Valencia, was shot along with two other people as they attended a wake at Kangalee Street, Valencia.
Best, a PH taxi driver, died at the scene.
A 41-year-old man from Curepe; and a 30-year-old woman from San Juan, were both injured in the incident.
Police said the trio had been seated on chairs under a tree at the house, when two masked men dressed police tactical and camouflage uniforms, allegedly emerged from some bushes and opened fire on them.
The gunmen then escaped back into the bushes.
