A 28-year-old woman is today nursing a gunshot wound after she was accidentally shot in the leg on Sunday morning, while liming at a bar in San Fernando.
The incident took place just before 4 o’clock this morning.
Reports state that a 36-year-old contractor, who was hanging out at the Rising Star Restaurant and Bar, San Fernando, had stood up to adjust his clothing, when his licensed 9mm pistol allegedly went off accidentally.
A 28-year-old woman, who was seated in the dining area about 15 to 20 feet away was shot in her left upper thigh and had to be rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital, where she underwent treatment.
Police were called to the scene and Cpl Griffith took possession of the gun and a spent shell casing.
Investigations are continuing.
