Woman, 44, caught stealing at a Supermarket

BETTY MULLINS, a 44-year-old woman of Pickaxe Trace, San Juan, appeared virtually before Magistrate Avion Gill at the Arima
Magistrates’ Court today charged with larceny.

She was granted $15,000 bail with a surety.

On Sunday 4th July, 2021, based on a report, officers of the Arima Municipal Police proceeded to Xtra Foods Supermarket on O’mera
Road, Arima.

Upon their arrival, they met the informant who is employed as a security guard at the supermarket.

He informed the officers that a woman allegedly took $990 worth of items and attempted to leave the store without paying. The security detained the woman and contacted the Police.

WPC O’Connell arrested the woman and conveyed her to the Arima Municipal Police Station. As a result of the investigation, the woman was subsequently charged for the offence of larceny.

The accused is expected to reappear virtually at the Arima

Magistrates’ Court on Friday 13th August, 2021.
