With the opening of Carifesta XIV a the Queen’s Park Savannah, T&T’s Soca greats did not disappoint.
‘The Queen of Bacchanal’, Destra Garcia who has been baring it all for the “gram” wore a silver jump suit ensemble, which moved as she jumped, waved and sang on the Savannah stage.
Destra had the crowd moving to her smash hit ‘It’s Carnival’ which she sang with the Ambassador of Soca, Machel Montano.
Meanwhile Nailah Blackman sang her 2019 hit “Iron Love’ and surprised the audience by bringing Desperados Steel Orchestra on stage to perform live.
With all the controversy behind pan men not being able to perform on the mega concert night on August 24th; this special feature by Nailah and Desperados was beautifully done.
The CARICOM Secretary-General also used the opportunity to thank those who were involved in the planning and execution of the event and commended them for a job well done.
