Western And North Central Division Exercises Result In Arrests, Guns and Ammunition Seizures

Two persons were arrested in separate exercises conducted in Western and North Central Divisions after two guns along with a quantity of ammunition were seized. 

Officers of the Western Division Task Force, while conducting surveillance in La Platte Village, Maraval chased and apprehended an 18-year-old man from the area. The officers seized a black and red bag from him in which they allegedly found a Smith and Wesson revolver with six rounds of .38 ammunition. The man was arrested and taken to the St. James Police Station.  

The exercise was sanctioned by Snr Supt Ramkhelewan,  coordinated by Supt Williams with assistance from ASP Boodhoo and Insp Grant. 

Officers also arrested a 30-year-old man from Arima for Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the St. Joseph District between the hours of 12 midnight and 4 pm on Monday. He was arrested after officers allegedly recovered a Jennings Bryco .380 pistol fitted with a magazine containing two live rounds of .380 ammunition. 

That exercise was spearheaded by ACP Mystar, Snr Supt Ramphal, and coordinated by Supt Powder, ASP Ramharrack, and Insp (Ag.)  Toorie.
