Biondi Bachew, the Executive Director of West Bees Supermarket, has been elected as the new president of the Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago.
He succeeds Rajiv Diptee, who held the position for nearly six years.
Diptee was appointed to the role in September 2018 and announced his decision to resign effective July 31.
On Tuesday SATT held its Annual General Meeting at the Centrum Auditorium, Centre Pointe Mall, Chauguanas.
At that meeting Bachew was elected as the association’s president.
According to a release from SATT, Bachew brings 10 years of experience in the industry and will work with chief executive officer, Amrika Teelucksingh and chief operating officer, Sarah Singh.
