A tropical wave will be passing through the region on Thursday and periods of heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely to affect T&T.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), the peak of activity is likely to be between the morning and early afternoon, especially for Tobago and the northern parts of Trinidad.
The expected combination of atmospheric features and moisture may also result in street/flash flooding and landslips in areas that are usually susceptible.
Gusty winds may also accompany heavy downpours, and street/flash flooding can be expected in the event of a heavy shower/thunderstorm.
Improvement is expected by late afternoon to give a settled evening and night with one or two lingering showers.
The TTMS is also monitoring the possibility of significant rainfall events between Saturday 08th and Tuesday 11th.
This is due to the possibility of the ITCZ maintaining a presence in the area.
