Watson Duke’s works for free as PSA President

While he will no longer receive a salary, Progressive Democratic Patriots Leader Watson Duke will continue to serve as President of the Public Services Association following the party’s win in the Tobago House of Assembly election on Monday.

In a statement yesterday, the PSA said the executive reached a unanimous and collective decision that all of the benefits and remunerations to Duke would cease for the remainder of his Presidency.

“However, the president would continue to carry out his constitutional duties in keeping with the PSA constitution,” the association said.

However Former General Secretary, Oral Saunders says red flags have been raised with this present situation.

Speaking with our newsroom this morning, he said that it violates that constitution of the Public Services Association under Article 37(b) which speaks about National officers.
