Water Supply To Parts Of Barrackpore Restored, Says WASA.

The Water and Sewerage Authority says the information provided via its media release dated Monday, October 11th, regarding the water supply to Khanai Trace South and Jones Village, Barrackpore area, remains the same, as service to the affected Khanai Trace South and Jones Village areas, was restored Tuesday, October 12th.

WASA says at this time, customers at the lower points of Khanai Trace are receiving a water supply, while customers at the higher elevations will receive a supply later in the day.

In a statement, WASA also noted that the ongoing project to replace the existing 4 inch diameter pipeline that serves the area, with a new 6 inch diameter pipeline, will be completed by the end of the week.

This project, it said, is expected to improve the reliability of service to the Khanai Trace South and environs. In the interim, WASA has been and continues to provide a supplemental truck borne water supply to affected customers.
