A burial that took place in Manado, Indonesia, was marked by a somewhat bizarre moment. A man was filming the funeral ceremony when he focused on the coffin that was being buried. Suddenly, the corpse seemed to say “goodbye”, which could be seen through the glass of the coffin.
During the unusual moment, it is possible to hear the priest reciting the book of John, in the passage that says “I am the resurrection and the life, whoever believes in me, even if he is dead, will live”. At the time, no one noticed the nod of the corpse and the funeral continued.
After the video went viral, netizens said the man being buried was alive and trying to get out of the coffin. Others suggested it could be a mouse. The burial took place on May 5 and it was not verified whether the person was really alive or not.
Another hypothesis is rigor mortis, that is, biochemical changes in the muscle that happen during the decomposition of the corpse.
