Residents in parts of North-East Trinidad are currently enduring low water pressure in their taps.
However, the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) said the low pressure is as a result of a leak and they are working to determine the source.
WASA said the suspected rupture is along the Hollis transmission pipeline, in a cross-country location.
The Authority said it became aware of the issue after a significant drop in pressures off the Hollis transmission system. It’s been conducting investigations along the pipeline, to determine the precise location of the suspected leak.
WASA said it will update the public on the source of the problem and the estimated completion time for repairs.
Affected areas include: parts of Arima, D’Abadie and Arouca inclusive Cocorite Road, O’Meara Road, Cleaver Road, Lynton Gardens, Darwill Gardens, La Resource, La Florissante, Lillian Heights, Ridgeview Heights, Riverwood Development, Bon Air North, Bon Air West, Bon Air Gardens, and areas along the Eastern Main Road from Arima to Arouca.
WASA said a limited truck borne service will be available upon request, which can be requested through the WASA Services App available via the Play Store or Apple store; or the Customer Portal available on the Authority’s website.
Alternatively, customers in need of direct assistance or further information can contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/26.
