The Water and Sewerage Authority has advised customers and members of the public that the voice note recording currently in circulation, which states that the Authority’s water treatment plants are shut down due the inclement weather conditions, is FAKE NEWS.
A release noted that at present, all the Authority water treatment facilities continue to operate at normal capacity, except for the Caura and Luengo & Naranjo Water Treatment Plants, which have been stopped due to turbid river conditions.
Customers in El Dorado and environs, as well as parts of Maracas, St. Joseph, are advised that their service will be disrupted pending the restart of these facilities, when the river conditions normalize.
The Authority further advises customers and the public to visit its Facebook page or stay tuned to media reports for additional updates.
