WASA says Penal/Debe water supply affected by harsh dry season

WASA has advised that more truck borne water is being provided to the Penal/Debe area to service certain streets which aren’t getting any pipe-borne water.

The Authority says they include Mohess Road, Jamoonie Trace, Chitar Trace, Panoo Trace, Old Mohess Road, Sanahie Trace, Ramdhanie Trace and Laltoo Trace Extension in Debe.

These communities are usually scheduled to receive a supply on rotation every nine days.

But, the authority says the harsh dry season’s impact on water production meant supply schedules could not be maintained.

WASA adds that it has been working closely with the corporation to address request for truck water, and its Call Centre is now open 24 hours to facilitate these.
