The Water and Sewerage Authority has advised that works are underway to effect repairs to a 27-inch sewer pipeline at the corner of East Sunset Drive and Regent Drive East, in the vicinity of Regents Towers, Westmoorings.
The authority, via a release, said the collapsed pipeline which gave rise to a sinkhole in the area, requires the replacement of the 27” D.I./ Concrete Main.
WASA said these works are projected to be completed by February 13, 2023, and that areas around the job site have been, and will continue to be sanitized daily.
WASA issued a traffic advisory as follows:
Vehicular traffic wishing to access Regent Drive East from an easterly direction along the Western Main Road would turn left onto Bayshore, drive in a southerly direction to Sunset Drive which becomes East Sunset Drive, turn left and proceed until arriving at Regent Drive West.
Then, turn right onto Regent Drive West and drive in a southerly direction to Regent Point and then on to Regent Drive East.
Vehicular traffic wishing to access Regent Drive East from a westerly direction along the Western Main Road would turn right on to Bayshore, drive in a southerly direction to Sunset Drive which becomes East Sunset Drive, turn left and proceed until arriving at Regent Drive West.
Then, turn right on to Regent Drive West and drive in a southerly direction to Regent Point and then on to Regent Drive East.
Vehicular traffic leaving Regent Drive East would proceed in a southerly direction to Regent Point and then to Regent Drive West. Turn left on to East Sunset Drive which becomes Sunset Drive, then right on to Bayshore, heading to the Western Main Road.
The company thanked the public for their cooperation and understanding during the period of disruption.
