WASA Issues Notice Of Supply Disruptions To Chatham, Paramin Residents

The Water and Sewerage Authority advises customers served by the Chatham Water Treatment Plant that, there will be a disruption in their pipe borne water supply for a twenty-four (24) hour period from 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 9th to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10th.

WASA says this has become necessary in order to isolate supply to the 16” diameter raw water discharge main located along the area of landslip on the Southern Main Road, Chatham where the Ministry of Works and Transport PURE Unit will be carrying out remedial works.

Areas to be affected are: Quarry Village, Rancho Quemado, Bennet Village, Santa Flora, Palo Seco, St. Francis Village, Erin, Sheila Lamorell Gardens, Dickie Trace, Los Bajos, Waddle Village, Chatham North, Chatham South, Boodram Trace, Point Coco, Unity Road, Augustusville, Coromandel Road, Southern Main Road from Cap De Ville Junction to Point Coco Ext Junction and Cap De Ville Tank.

Customers are further advised that it may take up to 36 hours for the supply to be restored to some affected areas following the completion of repairs.

WASA is also advising customers in Paramin, who are currently experiencing a disruption in their pipe borne water supply that this is due to mechanical problems at the Paramin No. 1 Booster Station.

Emergency repairs are currently underway and are expected to be completed today, Wednesday, December 8th.

Affected areas include: Beau Pres Road, Unity Street, Cacoa, Cameron, Hilltop, Latin, La Finette, La Belle Vie, Upper Paramin, Balata Trace, Fatima Trace, Fatima Junction, Gabilla Hill, Morne Cyril, Morne Espoire and Joseph Trace

WASA further advises that it may take up to 24 hours for the service to normalize to some affected areas following the completion of the repair works.
