Preliminary investigation rules out sabotage by external parties as the reason for the damaged of the 42-inch transmission line in the vicinity Santa Rosa Racetrack, Arima.
The situation caused over 120,000 residents of Arima and environs to be without a potable water supply.
However, repair work has been completed and water restored to affected residents.
Minister of Public Utilities, Marvin Gonsalves, provided the information in the Senate today.
