“WASA has been exposed as being impotent on dealing with the situation of drought during the dry season” says Couva South

Member of Parliament for Couva South says the Minister of Public Utilities, Fitzgerald Hinds has again failed to deliver as a government Minister.

The Couva South MP, Rudranath Indarsingh is today challenging Minister Hinds’s statement in the Senate yesterday that the Penal/Debe region had been receiving a pipe-borne water supply for over 21 days.

Indarsingh in a media release this afternoon, said Minsiter Hinds rattled out a prepared script, accusing the Minister of not investigating the issue?

Indarsingh said that Minster Hinds’s statement about the harsh dry season which had impacted WASA’s ability to supply water to the country was, an excuse especially those that are represented in Opposition, United National Congress.

Indarsingh said these areas continue to be affected by a water shortage crisis with which they have been experiencing for over four weeks.

Indarsingh said that the country has two seasons and every year, and adds that under the Keith Rowley-led PNM Administration, the Minister of Public Utilities and WASA have been exposed as being impotent on dealing with the situation of firstly a drought during the dry season which is followed by massive flooding in the rainy season.
