WASA fixing ruptured pipeline on Wrightson Road; motorists advised to use alternative routes

Motorists entering Port of Spain are being asked to use alternative routes where possible.

This, as WASA continues work to fix a ruptured 12 inch transmission pipeline along the westbound lane of Wrightson Road, in the vicinity of the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

WASA says while work began yesterday, there has been a delay due to the nature of the job, including the proximity of T&TEC underground utility cables.

The repairs are expected to be completed later today, following which the El Socorro Booster Station will be restarted.

Areas of North West Trinidad currently being affected by the water disruption include: Port-of-Spain, Morvant, Westmoorings, Cocorite, St. James, Woodbrook, Cascade, Belmont, Laventille, Gonzales, East Dry River.
