Wanted for triple murder, suspect held at Chuck E Cheese

A man wanted in connection with a triple murder was arrested on Thursday at a popular children’s entertainment centre in Chaguanas.

The suspect was held during an intelligence-led operation in the Central Division between 1 pm and 2.30 pm under the supervision of Snr Supt Pierre, Supt Montrichard, ASP Ramjohn, ASP Dipchand, Inspector Sylvan and officers from the Central Divison Task Force Area North and the Cunupia CID.

The officers went to Chuck E. Cheese in Edinburgh 500, where they detained a 22-year-old man, of Richard Lane, Southern Main Road, Cunupia. He was wanted for questioning about a triple murder on January 28 at Hassarath Road, Cunupia.

When he was held, the suspect was in the company of a woman and a child. The police approached, told him of the information they had and escorted him out of the establishment.

He was searched and police found a Glock 17 9mm pistol with a firearm selector and fitted with a magazine loaded with 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition tucked in his waist. He was taken to the Central Division Task Force Base Area.

Investigations are continuing.
