Opposition Senator, Wade Mark, is suggesting the government become proactive when it comes to fight against crime.
Mr Mark called for resources to be allocated where they are needed.
The Citizens Security Programme which was sponsored by the Inter-American Development Bank is another area where an appeal was made for the financial support.
Mr Mark said a criminologist said recently the venture resulted in a forty percent reduction in crime when it was in operation.
Speaking on matters on adjournment in the Senate, Tuesday afternoon, Mr Mark claimed human and capital flight is on the rise and young people need hope. He added that investors are not setting up business locally and all should be done to turn this situation around.
