Eleven undocumented Venezuelan immigrants; 4 males and 7 females who were detained by police during anticrime exercises appeared before a magistrate on Thursday 26th September, 2024.
Five of the immigrants appeared before Her Worship Armani Deonarinesingh where they all pled guilty. They were all sentenced as follows:
1. Daniel Alejandro Jimenez Cedeno; Pleaded guilty, convicted and fined the sum of $5000.00. In default, 30 days hard labour. Time allowed to pay 2 weeks.
2. Jennifer Simone Leon Mendoza; Pleaded guilty, convicted and fined the sum of $5000.00. In default, 30 days Simple Imprisonment. Time allowed to pay 2 weeks.
3. Krismar Gabriela Hernandez Hernandez; Pleaded guilty, convicted and fined the sum of $5000.00. In default, 30 days Simple Imprisonment. Time allowed to pay 2 weeks.
4. Carlos Miguel Fuentes Villarba; Pleaded guilty, convicted and fined the sum of $5000.00. In default, 30 days hard labour. Time allowed to pay 2 weeks.
5. Jose Leonardo Padovany Guerra; Pleaded guilty, convicted and fined the sum of $5000.00. In default, 30 days hard labour. Time allowed to pay 2 weeks.
The remaining six were remanded into custody and were due to appear in court yesterday, Friday 27th September, 2024.
