Vehicle stolen in Couva recovered in Morvant by the TTPS

Officers of the IATF recovered a vehicle which was reported stolen in Couva, in Morvant yesterday.

A TTPS report states that around 8 am on Sunday 14th March 2021, PC Abraham along with other officers of the I.A.T.F Charford Court Base, were on patrol duty in the Port of Spain when they responded to a wireless transmission relative to a report of a stolen motor vehicle.

The white Nissan Tiida vehicle was stolen on Saturday 13th March, 2021 in Couva. Information received revealed that the vehicle was last seen at Leotaud Street, Morvant.

Officers proceeded to the said location where they observed a vehicle fitting the mentioned description parked along the street with the key inside the ignition. The vehicle appeared to have been tampered with.

The officers communicated with the relevant authorities and the vehicle was wrecked to the San Juan Police Station where it was handed over to Ag Sgt Joseph.

The owner of the vehicle was contacted along with the investigator PC Pereira of the Couva CID.

Enquiries are continuing.
