Valencia man charged for 2018 murder

A Valencia man is expected to appear before a Sangre Grande Magistrate today charged with the 2018 murder of Kevin Arrindell.

Darryl Bobby Lalla, 38, of Quarry Road, Valencia, was also charged with shooting with intent against a male victim and possession of firearm and possession of ammunition, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on Monday 17th February 2020.

Arrindell, 36, a farmer, of Cayman Road, Valencia, was at Swan Quarry Road, Valencia, on Tuesday 6th August 2018, in the company of another man, when they were approached by a lone gunman who fired several shots at them. The victim as shot in the back of the head and died at the scene.

The assailant continued shooting at the second victim who ran off. He escaped without injuries.

Lalla was arrested in connection with the offences on Wednesday 12th February 2020, by officers of the Sangre Grande Police Station.

Investigations were supervised by ASP Sean Dhillpaul, of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 2, while Lalla, was charged by WPC Cindy Diaz also of HBI, Region 2, on Monday 17th February 2020.
