Vacancies Being Filled In Student Support Service Division, Says Education Ministry

The Ministry of Education says vacancies are being filled in the Student Support Service Division.

It says the Division is being staffed with over 700 personnel, among them, Guidance Counsellors, School Social Workers, Special Education Instructors, Psychologists and Diagnostic Specialists.

In a media release on Wednesday, the Ministry said these officers operate throughout approximately 625 public primary, secondary and special schools.

The Ministry said while existing vacancies are being filled, it must be noted that the work of these officers is most effective with the cooperation of parents, and interventions at the level of the family.
