On Sunday, the Entrepreneurship and Business Transformation Office, of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Dean’s Office at The University of the West Indies St. Augustine Campus will be hosting a pre-budget conference themed, “Health Opportunities and Challenges in a Pandemic”.
Six globally recognized experts will speak to the conference aims to address potential threats facing the health system in the near future (new and emerging variants, new infectious diseases etc.).
Other areas to be discussed include solutions for strengthening and reforming health systems to deal with future pandemics, identifying potential areas for investment and development in health as economic transformative areas.
Emphasizing the need to ensuring equity and access for citizens to health education which is regarded as a potential economic earner will also be addressed.
On Monday the national budget for the period 2021/2022 will be presented.
