UWI campus facilitating walk-in vaccinations today – one day only

The UWI St Augustine Campus is the latest site to come on stream to facilitate Covid-19 vaccines.

In a notice on Thursday, the University is inviting persons over the age of 18 to get vaccinated there from today.

They said in order to ensure that all Sinopharm vaccines allotted to the Campus are used, it will be offering shots to any interested person.

It will be a walk-in initiative with no prior appointment needed, and will only be offered today, July 23rd, between 9am to 2pm.

The Campus Vaccination Centre is located at the University Inn and Conference Centre along St Augustine Circular Road.

The requirements to access this service are as follows:

*18 years and over
*non-pregnant
*must have national ID on hand

The University says numerous medical students and graduates have been volunteering and working in tandem with the Campus’ Heath Services Unit to administer the vaccines.

Deputy Campus Principal Professor Indar Ramnarine has since thanked the hard-working staff and students, saying: “This mass vaccination exercise has indeed shone the light on our dedicated students and staff of The UWI. It is a demonstration of the excellence that exists throughout the University not only in the field of medicine but as caring members of society. I applaud their efforts and encourage members of the public to come out and get vaccinated at the Campus Vaccination Centre.”
