The United States will first seek FDA approval before finalisation of AstraZenica Covid-19 vaccine donations to other countries.
US President Joseph Biden last week announced that the United States will donate 60 Million dosses of the AstraZeneca vaccine and 20 Million Phizer, Moderna and J&J vaccines to other countries in an attempt to equalise the global playing field in vaccine access.
United States Embassy Charges d Affaires, Deputy Chief of Mission, Shante Moore confirmed this while speaking on Power 102 Digital, Power Breakfast show this morning.
Mr. Moore said the United States will take the same level of precautions for any vaccine to be donated as they would for their own population.
Mr. Moore also clarified the process by which Trinidad and Tobago was able to receive the field hospitals to increase bed capacity in the parallel health care system.
He also identified the various ways the United States has been providing aid and support to Trinidad and Tobago through the Covid 19 pandemic.
