One man was killed and three others arrested following a report of robbery against two businesses in the Central Division on Sunday morning.
Officers of the Central Division Task Force, Central Division Operational Unit, Emergency Response Patrol and Chaguanas Patrol Unit, responded to a report of a robbery in progress in the Charlieville district, around 3:17am, on Sunday.
Upon arrival at the scene where the robbery was in progress, officers were shot at by armed assailants from inside the building. Officers returned fire in accordance with the Minimum Use of Force policy, injuring one of the gunmen.
A 20-year-old Enterprise man was taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility, where he died.
Further investigations resulted in two other men being apprehended while running along the southbound lane of the Uriah Butler Highway. The suspects, a 21-year-old and a 20-year-old, both of Goodwill Road, Enterprise, Chaguanas, were arrested in connection with the incident.
A short while later, based on information, officers proceeded to Ocean Drive, Enterprise, where a 21-year-old suspect was also arrested in connection with the robbery.
Investigations are ongoing.
