The police have identified the five men brutally ambushed and gunned down in Carapo. They have been identified as Jimmy Sem Poon, 26, Avinash Sookraj, 32; Russel Poon, 53; Rajesh Pooran, 54 and Ryan Sookraj, 47.
All of the men were executed and shot in their heads. Police reported around 4.35 p.m., they received an anonymous call about the incident, which took place off Race Course Road in Carapo. Videos and pictures of the gruesome scene went viral on social media.
The men were seated and liming when they were ambushed and executed.
Many in the area speculated that the killings were gang related. Police are continuing their investigations.
Another man was gunned down outside Rituals on the southern main road in Curepe. Police are also continuing investigations into that incident.
