Uncertain times ahead for some UNC MP’s in the lead up to General Elections

Opposition Leader, Kamal Persad-Bissessar is set to release the names of more candidates who will represent the party in the upcoming General Elections.

However there has since been some uncertainty as to who will represent their current constituencies in the polls or if they will be removed and replaced by someone new.

Dr Fuad Khan, MP for San Juan/Barataria has already announced that he will not be contesting in the elections, as well and there have been rumblings on the ground that Ramona Ramdial, MP for Couva North may not be selected to represent the party, come August 10.

Reported in the Express; Princes Town MP Barry Padarath may have lost his opportunity at returning to represent his constituency.

Among the few rumoured to be sitting in “safe seats”, in United National Congress are Naparima MP Rodney Charles, Pointe-a-Pierre, David Lee, Oropouche East MP Dr Roodal Moonilal, Fyzabad MP Dr Lackram Bodoe and Siparia MP Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
