UNC Youth Arm endorses leader, says PNM incapable of innovative leadership

The UNC National Youth Arm completely supports and endorses the move by the leader of the Opposition Kamla Persad-Bissessar by writing to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi requesting COVID-19 vaccines for Trinidad and Tobago.

According to a release from the UNC Youth Arm, “this pandemic has taught us all the need for visionary and innovative leadership, which the PNM is incapable of because they have fixated on friends, families, financiers and Faris.”

They said “The same Minister of Health, Terrance Deyalsingh is on public record embarrassing the country by forging a bad relationship with our counterparts in Barbados, he should focus on his job and maybe then others would not have to step in and do it for him.

“But this is nothing new to the PNM as last week Friday proved how incompetent their ministers are as they did not vote on the Opposition’s motion of no confidence in the Minister of Energy and Energy Industries. Just over a month ago the Opposition also brought a motion of no confidence on the Minister of National Security.”

“But the issue that is plaguing the PNM now is not fixing the country that they broke because of their incompetence but it is to lambast the Opposition, stifle them by their majority in parliament and berate anyone who holds a contrary perspective or policy outlook. The PNM must answer where was the protocol for Delcy entering with sanctioned persons on a sanctioned aircraft? Where was the protocol when the Prime Minister attacked women by telling them how to choose their men? Where was the protocol when the Prime Minister attacked the US ambassador in parliament? Where was the protocol when Stuart Young and Faris Al-Rawi recused themselves? The Rowley regime should be the last to speak about protocol as they have zero credibility and zero functioning ability.”

The release said “There is no definite date nor any confirmed date for the vaccines to arrive in Trinidad and Tobago to which Minister Deyalsingh claimed and because of that, in crisis we must act expediently! The Leader of the Opposition represents over 300,000 citizens to which, she also leads the government in waiting and if this PNM government is incapable of governing then they must step down for visionary and proper leadership. Many countries in the Caribbean and throughout the world has gotten vaccines from India and the government must answer why we have not received any yet. In this regard, the National Youth Arm of the United National Congress supports and endorses this move by the Leader of the Opposition as in desperate times calls for desperate measures.”
