UNC Says It Stands In Support Of David Lee Following Charges

The United National Congress is claiming the innocence of Opposition Member of Parliament, David Lee, and is demanding this matter be dealt with expeditiously.

It alleges the Chief Whip is innocent and will be vindicated at the courts.

MP Lee was Friday afternoon charged with misbehaving in public office and conspiracy to defraud.

The charges were in connection with the purchase of a 2.3 million dollar Mercedes Benz and whether the 1.4 million dollar in tax exemptions derived may have benefited a party financier.

The UNC claims there is no evidence to support the allegations against MP Lee.

The release said any right thinking person would ask why would MP Lee do any of what he is accused of when there was no benefit to be accrued by him.
