Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s comments regarding Housing Minister Camille Robinson-Regis last night are courting controversy.
She chastised Mrs Robinson-Regis for speaking about her on a political platform before seemingly criticizing the history behind the Minister’s surname.
The UNC’s Public Relations Officer, Kirk Meighoo, however defended Mrs. Persad Bissessar insisting that she was just standing up to the bullying by the PNM.
He claimed that the PNM had started the disrespect when they sought to make fun of her name on a political platform.
