The United National Congress Women’s Arm celebrates twelve years of what it describes as outstanding Political Leadership from its Leader, Kamla Persad-Bissessar SC.
In a media release the UNC said it recognise Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s valuable contribution to women being granted equal and full voice, participation and leadership everywhere, and in every aspect, and for making the case that we need the essential role of women as persons of courage, ingenuity, vision and achievement!
The UNC said she has demonstrated this through her life and work, and her leadership in governance, diplomacy, social norm change and political game-changing for gender equality and women’s empowerment — that women make a difference!
It said Mrs. Persad-Bissessar became an incredible role model for women and girls and serves as an inspiration across countries and regions.
The UNC said she is a woman that has broken glass ceilings, has pushed the frontiers of women’s leadership and has paved the path for other women and girls to follow in their footsteps and become future leaders.
