UNC defector says ILP-NTA accomodation wont change party

Changing the façade of an organization does not change its content.

This is the opinion of former United National Congress Senator Tarhaqa Obika regarding the UNC’s accommodation with Jack Warner’s ILP and Gary Griffith’s NTA.

Mr Obika crossed the floor last month, switching from the UNC to the PNM.

Speaking this morning on Power 102 Digital’s Power Breakfast Show, he addressed the arrangement and suggested that it will have no impact on the policies and governance structures within the UNC.

Mr Obika added that his view is also supported by the attitude adopted by the party regarding persons before the courts on various matters.

ILP leader Jack warner is fighting extradition to the US while UNC Deputy Political Leader, David Lee is facing two criminal charges including conspiracy to defraud.
