Two motor vehicles which were reported stolen on Monday from the St. James district were successfully recovered by officers of the Stolen Vehicles Squad during an intelligence-led exercise conducted in the Central Division yesterday.
The exercise, conducted between 2:30 pm and 7 pm, on Tuesday 6th August, 2024, was spearheaded by Snr. Supt. Singh, Supt. Etienne and ASP Sookdeo and supervised by Insp. Lazarus and Sgt. (Ag.) Baksh.
During the exercise, officers proceeded to a house at Perseverance, Couva, where they observed a white Caravan motor vehicle without registration plates parked along the roadway.
The vehicle was traced to be an unregistered vehicle which had been stolen from the Port at Invaders Bay, on Monday 5th August, 2024.
The same party of officers then proceeded to the corner of Perry and Cemetery Streets, Couva, where they observed a blue Nissan Note bearing false registration plates, parked on a vacant lot of land.
The vehicle was traced to also having been an unregistered vehicle which was reportedly stolen from the Port at Invaders Bay, the day before.
Investigations are ongoing into the two above recoveries.
The exercise is part of an ongoing initiative of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence and Investigations, Suzette Martin and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Criminal Division, Vena Butler.
