Two suspects held in connection with robbery of Health Minister

Two suspects have been held in connection with the robbery involving Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh MP.

According to police officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) went to St Paul Street, where they saw a blue Hyundai Elantra which they believe was involved in the robbery.

They intercepted the vehicle and two male suspects were apprehended.

The men were handed over to St Joseph police, who are continuing the investigations.

Minister Deyalsingh was robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday, as he sat by a bar in his constituency of St Joseph.

In a 50-second video that was shared widely on social media the Health Minister could be heard speaking on a cellphone to someone, recapping the ordeal.

Deyalsingh explained to the person on the other end of the phone call who he referred to a ‘Minister’ that two men had walked up to him and took his bracelet.

Investigations are ongoing.
