Two held following report of housebreaking in St. Ann’s

Two men were arrested by officers of the San Juan Municipal Police Station in connection with a report of housebreaking and larceny, which occurred on Thursday 1st October, 2020.

A female victim told police that she secured her Hutton Street, St. Ann’s premises around 12:30pm, on Thursday 1st October, 2020 and went away.

She said she was alerted by a neighbour to the presence of strange men on her compound around 3:30pm, on that same date. The men were seen leaving the house with a television set and other items and entering a black Nissan Tiida motor vehicle.

When the victim returned to her home, she made a report to the Belmont Police Station.
Officers of the San Juan Municipal Police were on mobile patrol in the St. Ann’s district when they intercepted the vehicle with two male occupants.

A search of the vehicle resulted in one 55-inch television along with other stolen items being found.

The suspects, a 40-year-old of Morvant and an 18-year-old of Laventille were arrested in connection with the incident.
