Two charged and two others held for firearm-related offences

Two men are expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate today, charged with possession of firearm, possession of ammunition and robbery with aggravation.
SOLOMON HARRIGIN, 27, of St. James and NIKOLAI MC INTOSH, 19, of Port of Spain, were charged with the offences after they were arrested by officers following a report of robbery with aggravation in the Curepe district on Thursday 24th March, 2022.
At the time of the arrest, officers allegedly seized one Glock 17 pistol loaded with a magazine containing 15 rounds of ammunition from the accused and recovered a stolen Toyota Hilux which had been taken from its owner 25 minutes earlier.
The charges were laid by WPC Cooper of the Morvant Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and PC St. Clair of the Northern Division.
In a separate incident, officers of the Chaguanas Criminal Investigations Department (CID), along with officers of the Central Division Task Force, Area North and the Chaguanas Chargeroom, conducted an exercise around 5 pm, on Wednesday 30th March, 2022, in the Enterprise district.
During the exercise, the officers proceeded to Bynoe Trace Extension, where they executed a search warrant at a house with a male and female occupant.
The search resulted in officers finding a Ruger pistol loaded with one magazine containing 22 rounds of ammunition. The couple was arrested in connection with the find.
Investigations are ongoing.
