Two arrested during drug trafficking deal in Maraval

Two men will appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate today to answer to the charge of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

A TTPS report indicated that on January 14th, Officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force (NEDTF) acting on information received proceeded to Catalina Court, Haleland Park, Saddle Road, Maraval.

Upon arrival, the officers observed two men conducting what appeared to be a transaction inside a white AD wagon.

Following further observation, the officers searched the men and the vehicle, where they allegedly discovered five sealed packages of marijuana, with a weight of 5.2 kilogrammes.

The find has an estimated street value of $50,000.

 

Both men, BENJAMIN MARTIN, 30, and DION SALANDY, 31, of Gokool Street, Diego Martin, were arrested and later charged for possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
