Twelve additional youth facilities will be established across the country.
The areas identified for construction include La Horquetta, Moruga, Enterprise, Sea Lots, Maloney, Mayaro, Beetham Estate and Arouca.
Project Monitoring Coordinator, Project Management Unit, Ministry of Youth Development and National Service, Jenine Benjamin, cited the various factors which were used to determine where the centres will be set up.
Speaking at a Joint Select Committee meeting today, Ms Benjamin said a comprehensive assessment was done to find out the density of the population in the areas which will have need for training.
The need for skills training, whether it is remote, a hot spot community or depressed with a number of vulnerable young people are other factors which were deliberated upon before deciding where the centres will be set up.
