T&T’s Nikoli Blackman scores as the third fastest swimmer in CARIFTA games history

Trinidad and Tobago made history at the CARIFTA Games podium in the boy’s 15-17 100 metre freestyle for the fastest top three since 2013.
Topping the field was Nikoli Blackman of Team Trinidad and Tobago who won in 51.39, a new personal best.
Blackman is now the third fastest performer in CARIFTA history.
T&T’s Olympian holder Dylan Carter 50.67 and immediate past record holder Joshua Romany 50.99 have been faster.
Meanwhile silver was won by his teammate Zarek Wilson in 52.06.
Wilson is now the fifth fastest performer of all time by passing the legendary Shaune Fraser of Team Cayman Islands 52.08 and a former record holder.
This has returned T&T to senior 100 free dominance with Carter and Romany.
The Bronze went to “Marvelous Marvin” Johnson of Team Bahamas in 52.16.
Johnson is the youngest of the podium party at 15.
He is now the 8th fastest CARIFTA performer in the event and the fastest ever from T&T at the CARIFTA games.
