TTPS Social Welfare says vaccs should be choice not coercion

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Social and Welfare Association says that vaccination should be by choice and not by coercion.

It has therefore instructed its members that they are not required to provide their vaccination status to their employer as is being requested.

It has urged Government to use persuasion which it says could be achieved through health insurance for police officers as well as the State accepting liability for all adverse outcomes.

It notes that roughly fifty percent of police officers are unvaccinated.

President of the Association Inspector Gideon Dickson says this means that if the State goes through with its plan to furlough unvaccinated public servants the police service will be at half strength.
