TTPS mourns the death of Sgt. Jacob after he was found unresponsive by passers-by

Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, and the Executive of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) are offering sincerest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of No 16369 Sgt Lyndon Jacob, who died this morning.

Sgt Jacob, 40, was last attached to the Special Operations Response Team (SORT). He was married and had two children including a one-month-old baby.

According to investigators, Sgt Jacob was found unresponsive at Sankerlal Drive, Mayo.

He left home to go to his garden around 8 am and was found by passers-by around 11:30am.

He was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital by EHS Ambulance where he was pronounced dead sometime later.

Supt Roger Alexander, Head of SORT, said if there was one man to describe as being noble, Sgt Jacob was. Alexander said he was the perfect gentleman and officer and he would be greatly missed.

He extended condolences to his family, friends and colleagues on his untimely passing.

An autopsy is to be performed.
