TTPS: Man Held With Gun in Western Division, Teen In Court For Robbery Offences

One man was arrested and a firearm and quantity of ammunition seized during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Western Division over the weekend.

Officers of the Western Division Task Force conducted an exercise between 10 am and 5 pm, on November 26th, during which they stopped and searched a dark grey Nissan Note motor vehicle with a lone male occupant, along the Western Main Road, St. James.

The search resulted in officers finding one Mac11 firearm loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition.

A 39-year-old man of Piarco was arrested in connection with the find.

During the same exercise, officers executed search warrants in the Diego Martin district and arrested one man for possession of marijuana.

Meanwhile, a 15-year-old boy was arrested by officers of the Central Division, in connection with a report of robbery with aggravation, which occurred in the Carapichaima district on November 25th.

Investigations into the incident resulted in officers of the Freeport Criminal Investigations Department arresting and charging the teenager for robbery with violence and robbery with aggravation.

He is expected to appear before the Fyzabad Children’s Court today to answer to the charges.
