Three suspects wanted in connection with several reports of Demanding Money by Menace were arrested by officers of the North Central Division during an operation conducted yesterday.
The intelligence-led operation also included officers of the Cyber Crime Unit and the Central Division’s Gang Unit, and supervised by Snr. Supt Smith, Snr. Supt. Simon, Supt. Gyan, ASP Singh and Sgt. Cielto.
Following weeks of investigations and surveillance, three suspects, a 39-year-old of Santa Cruz, a 33-year-old of St. Joseph and a 26-year-old of Valsayn, were held following investigations into several reports of Demanding Money by Menace spanning several months and over a dozen victims.
It is alleged that over $200,000 in cash had already been paid to the offenders by the victims.
Victims of this type of crime are urged to make a report to their district police station for an investigation to be launched.
Investigations are ongoing into the above matter.
