TTPS channeling more resources to curb gang activity

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has viewed the Trinidad and Tobago Postal Corporation’s (TTPOST) letter, advising their staff about their attire while carrying out their duties in certain communities.

The TTPS Executive, in a statement, said it reached out to the Management Team at TTPOST, who expressed concerns about the safety of their staff, and discussions were held regarding this matter.

The TTPS has taken note of the issue and said it would like to assure the business community, as well as members of the public that they will increase efforts and channel resources with the aim of dismantling said gangs, who impinge on the everyday lives of citizens.

The public will also see increased patrols and higher visibility in the affected communities, which acts as a deterrent to lawless conduct.

The TTPS said it will continue to dialogue with all stakeholders and strengthen their partnerships, ultimately aimed at restoring a sense of security and safety to persons who live and work in these areas and throughout the country.
