TTPS Bomb experts deployed at Piarco Airport following bomb scare

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service deployed its Specialised Unit of Bomb Experts, at the Piarco Airport Following Threat, Investigations Underway
There have been no injury or damage reported to any sections of or aircrafts at the Piarco International Airport today, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) confirms.
Searches of baggage and areas at the Airport have unearthed no untoward activities or explosives at this time.
At 2.58 pm on December 17th, the TTPS was alerted by officials of the Airport Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (AATT) of a threat made via its PBX.
The TTPS immediately deployed first responders from the Piarco Police Station who aided in evacuation of the Terminal and surrounding areas, ensuring the safety of travellers and staff.
Bomb technicians attached to the Special Branch and agents of the Canine Branch were also deployed and took control of the situation. They are actively searching and monitoring the Airport at this time.
The TTPS confirms, this incident is engaging the full attention of key stakeholders such as the AATT, Caribbean Airlines and Customs and Excise, among other arms of national security.
Law enforcement personnel remains at the scene as an investigation has been launched and is underway regarding the origin of the potential threat.
